Waltzing with Daddy

God directs our path one step at a time. We'll never find joy if we think we have to know everything before we take our first step in the direction He is leading us. :) It's like a waltz where one party leads, one follows, and Abba Daddy is the dance partner who's leading us. If we follow His leading, the dance is effortless, enjoyable and graceful. But if we choose to dance our own steps whilst He tries to lead, the dance becomes clumsy, takes a lot of force and becomes unenjoyable. We need to let God lead, and waltz in time with Him, step by step. :)

Rainbow Blessings Galore - 25 Feb 2009 =)

Image
These are some pictures taken by Singaporeans all over the island yesterday (source- http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=481342) Yew Tee @ 7.05pm, Jurong West @ 6.45pm =D I love the full arc one- WOW! How often does one get to see a full arc rainbow in Singapore? As for the one taken from the flat window at Jurong West, I felt the rainbow arcs were both very vibrant. Nice! I've kept my rainbow sighting as my mobile phone's wallpaper - a great reminder that Jesus loves me, my Daddy God is ALWAYS right by me... =)

More rainbow sightings

Image
Rainbows were sighted all over Singapore yesterday! God had a field day showing us all how much He truly loves us. =) After I blogged about the rainbows I saw, I received emails, messages, mms-es on rainbows other fellow believers have sighted! What amazed me was - they were sighted at different times from the ones I saw! The above was taken by my friend, a single mum of 2 kids, at 5.40pm @ Tampines (east side of Singapore). This was taken in the West side by an ex-colleague of mine at 5.50++pm. He had prayed to see a rainbow just moments before it appeared in the sky! Jesus hears!! The rainbow I saw was initially a single rainbow. This was taken at 6.36pm. The second one appeared 2 minutes after at 6.38pm! Interestingly 6+3+8= 17 --> God's perfection! There is now NO MORE CONDEMNATION IN CHRIST JESUS - we have been made perfect in Him! Our provision is similarly perfect because He is our ALL in ALL! =D If you have any rainbow photos to share from yesterday, please email the

Double Rainbows just when I needed some reminding! =D

Image
I was getting ready to cross the road at Dhoby Ghaut when I spotted a rainbow between 2 buildings!! People were oblivious to it - going on their way, numb and hurried. It was only when I walked on that I saw that it was not one but TWO rainbows! A reminder of God's blessings upon us even during these troubling times =D Today started off with anxieties amongst some of the people I care in my life, so I hope this rainbow will be a great encouragement to them that EVERYTHING IS MORE THAN ALL RIGHT! =D God is with us! We are overcomers! And though i took awhile to walk to my Hubby's office, the rainbows were still there - and even more vibrant and rich in colour!! Talk about Qara! :) Reassurance that His double blessings are not just over us but our work too! Interestingly, less than twenty secs after taking the last photo of the rainbows, I wanted to point them out to a friend whom I'd bumped into (non-believer). We looked up and they'd all but faded.

My wedding anniversary gift to Ian pt3

Dearest Precious Blessing, Happy first year anniversary! :) We've been married for 365 days now & the journey has been nothing short of AMAZING! [Just note the continuous usage of exclaimation marks... Hahaha!!!!] :) In you, I've found a wonderful partner to walk my spiritual journey in Christ with; a best (human) friend whom I can share my secrets, corny remarks and thoughts with; a loves who is romantic, caring, sexy ;), gentle, creative; a fantastic father to our little one (& more little ones to follow); a loyal, faith-filled comrade in the face of spiritual & "fallen earth" battles... Grins! We may not know what wonderful adventures lie ahead of us but a few things are for sure... 1> God is for us, who can be against us? We will overcome because He overcame at the Cross! :) 2> It will just keep getting brighter and better in Jesus. Woohoo! 3> We are each other's "Help Mate" and the Holy Spirit teaches us ALL things- including ho

Ian's Wedding Anniversary present

Hey Dear, thank you for being my wife. Waking up next to you every morning (or afternoon, lol) reminds me afresh of why I love you. And I fall in love with you all over again. You are my blessing from Christ, the blessing I waited 7 years for. But it was well worth it, because those 7 years resulted in His perfection indeed. There's nobody else I'd rather spend my life with. Your smile brightens my day, and reminds me of hope from high. Christ is the bedrock and foundation, and you & Kae are like pillars in my life. I can lie beside you, because we all rest on the same foundation. It's been one year, and it's passed so quick. But it's been the best year of my life, because I got to spend it with you, side by side. I love being married to you. :) Words can't really express adequately what I want to say, but I hope this letter goes some way in doing so. On the winds of the eternal summer breeze I hear the rumour of something in coming round. The answer to m

Our first Wedding Anniversary :)

Today marks our first wedding anniversary and the first year we've been a family. :) Post more tomorrow because we're busy romancing each other now. Ha ha. - Geri blogging Live from Straits Kitchen where we're eating dinner. ;)

Out of the mouth of babes...

"Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months. Again he prayed and the heavens gave rain." (James 5:17). Prayer is like communicating with God, and prayer doesn't always get answered immediately. We must wait with patience. Patience is waiting with a joyful heart and a good opinion of God- that is seeing God bigger than your problems, and believing that He keeps His promises because He is faithful. Remember to always keep praying and communicating with God even though times are bad. God will help you. - love, Kaelen <his own reflection about the above reading> ;) Blessed weekend! - Wee bears

The Great I AM

Our God is a progressive God- always on the move. He is not the great I was or the great I will be; He is the great I AM. He wants to do something new in your life right now! The possibilities for you and me are unlimited. It doesn't matter how young, old, rich, poor, educated or uneducated we are or even how many weaknesses we have. No matter how absurd our situation may seem, God can make a miracle out of our messes! - Joyce Meyer

Chess Clubbing Kae

Image
Kae, Ke-gan and Javier muck about like all boys do. Yea those are real huge chess pieces. =D Ke-gan and Kae - Kae's playing white and won this round against his friend. Good match. Kae and the #2 of the Under 8 kids. That boy's good and he looks like Yew Guang!! Javier, Ke-gan and Kaelen - the 3 chess-keteers! David vs Goliath. Guess who won the round? =) The kids were all so cute... and what's with all these kids that look like my grown up friends? This boy reminded me of Takuya!!

Who am I?

Who am I? I am an overcomer. I am bold to speak out my Abba Daddy's blessings over my life - even those that are on their way and have yet manifested. I am a prayer warrior, a psalmist like David - I am happy to sing His praises in the midst of the storm, I am willing to pray for those who need intercession. I am washed clean - and I can no longer be covered by any curses of this fallen earth, any curses of the Law because they roll off me, a born-again and blessed child of God! I am healed - in all areas: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, material. In Him I am made a new creation that is whole and sound. I am victorious in Him! He makes all things new - His mercies are new every morning, great is His faithfulness!! I am a decision-maker - I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back. I've decided to live a Let-Go life... Abba I let go and I ask you to make all things good according to your beautiful will because your blessings bring with them no sorrow! I am FREE - I

Joel Osteen - Choosing what battles to fight ( - a very excellent read!!)

Not every battle is worth fighting. Many of the challenges that come our way are simply distractions trying to lure us from our destiny. When we have opportunities to get upset, maybe somebody is talking about us, or a competitor at work is spreading rumors, or our spouse says something that they shouldn't have, we ought to stop and ask ourselves, "If I engage in this battle and spend my time and energy trying to straighten somebody out, defending myself, arguing with a family member, trying to prove that I'm right, even if I win this battle what is the prize going to be? What is this fight going to accomplish?" You see, there are a lot of battles that come across our lives each day, but they simply aren't worth the fight. The end result is strife and disharmony. Proverbs 20:3 says, "Avoiding a fight is mark of honor." If you want to honor God and enjoy your life, decide to be a peacemaker. Be the kind of person that will avoid an unnecessary fight. If y

Sexy voices galore

The 3 bears are waiting patiently to restore their usual sweet voices. Currently possessing sexy voices, they have been bouncing a bug amongst themselves and just trusting in Jesus to make their recovery, short and sweet! =) Keep us in your prayers ya? =D We believe that we are HEALED in Christ and wait from victory for our full recovery, rejecting every negative reports spoken over us in Jesus's mighty name, AMEN!

This is a beautiful journey and I'm glad it's with you and Christ. Hub-B you're truly my Precious Blessing from Abba Daddy.

Urgent Prayer Request for a Missing Girl

The younger sister of a friend of mine has run away from home. She is not yet 16 and I think she feels terribly alone, unloved and misunderstood. For confidentially purposes, her name is Violet, and if you have time, do say a little prayer for her. Violet is not the natural daughter of the family. She was a niece adopted into the family. She has 3 brothers who might find it awkward to share with her, to advice her due to the gender divide. Her adoptive mother calls her a useless pig and puts her down all the time. She sleeps in her mother's room but if the mum is home late, she has no access to the room and has to sleep outside in the living room. Her brothers love her... especially her second brother, but she needs more than love. She needs reassurance, discipline and more than that, she needs T-I-M-E. The brothers try but are also busy running their own lives. And TIME and LOVE from a brother is so different from TIME and LOVE from a parent. I understand what it is like to have a

Recalling Geri at 17...

I am going to be 29 come April but it seems not too long ago that I was an emotional 17 year old with too much hormones to handle. I was immature but I thought I was mature, lost but thought I was chilling... I thought I knew everything at 17. So when I look at the teenagers around me or hear their wisecrack, I remember - It wasn't too long ago that I thought I was some streetwise smart aleck. Though I was sorta, I still had so much to learn and I still do! Everyday is a new learning experience - be it a major or minor one. Each day I learn to admit that I am weak so that He can be strong for me. I learn that if I keep trying to bear the weight of the world on my shoulders, I am just asking to be squashed. What a difference passing time makes in the way we see life, taste it and live it. At 17, I'd dated close to 20 guys (gasp). At 17, I was struggling with depression. At 17, I wanted to be close to Jesus and yet run away from Him - I had guilt/condemnation issues that ran deep

Resurrection - beyond death

Resurrection is a realm beyond the touch of death. Satan knows only too well how He can do nothing to this resurrection life. :) The LORD has already overcome and won the victory for us at the Cross. We have the resurrection life today in Christ. Amen! See 1 Cor 15:54, 57 and 2 Cor 2:14, 5:4 ;)

On Patience and Running to the Light

Image
Sometimes it seems like God is slow to take us to our promised land, but sometimes it is because we're taking longer to learn things that will help us live victoriously in that Promised Land He has set apart esp for us. Give it to us too soon and we might turn a fruitful land to waste because we don't yet operate under Kingdom principles in that area. So be patient- God knows when best to give us our inheritance. We ask and wait with joyful expectation. It'll come in His time and His blessings bring with them no sorrow. ;) If God asks us to stay in a situation, He is going to give us special grace, for a special season, to experience His SHALOM and joy despite our circumstances! Too often we struggle with ourselves and our weaknesses, trying to change, spending time being mad about things in our life. What we really need to do is just get more grace, more of His light into the situation. Run to the Light of God and switch it on rather than fight or wander in the darkness. W

Security in times of global shaking

"I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." (Psalm 37:25). God is constant & faithful to His promises time eternal. He has never forsaken us who've been made the righteousness of God in Christ. He has never let us go hungry literally because of His promises to Abraham, whom we are heirs and seeds to the inheritance God has promised to thanks to our new life, and redemption by Christ Jesus. :) Our salvation is secure in the precious blood of the lamb, our provision is perfect because of the grace of our Kinsman Redeemer. Praise God! Praise the Holy Spirit! Praise Jesus! His beautiful and mighty name reach all the ends of the Earth.

“Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread.” - Max Lucado

What a statement of trust! Whatever you want me to have is all I want. Some days the plate runs over. God keeps bringing out more food and we keep loosening our belt. A promotion. A privilege. A friendship. A gift. A lifetime of grace. An eternity of joy. There are times when we literally push ourselves back from the table, amazed at God’s kindness. “You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head; my cup fills with blessing” (Ps. 23:5 MSG). And then there are those days when, well, when we have to eat our broccoli. Our daily bread could be tears or sorrow or discipline. Our portion may include adversity as well as opportunity. This verse was on my mind last night during family devotions. I called my daughters to the table and set a plate in front of each. In the center of the table I placed a collection of food: some fruit, some raw vegetables and some Oreo cookies. “Every day,” I explained, “God prepares for us a plate of experiences. What

Kae has really grown up...

Yesterday I was busy with work and Kae was playing Lego Batman (he times himself btw). He needed help with one of the levels but I was busy with my work and stuff, so he came out of the room smiling and said, " "Mummy since you are busy at the moment with your work, I will go turn off the Wii first. Then when Daddy and you are at home and are free, we can play the next stage of Lego Batman together okay? Love you Mummy! " Wah I felt a surge of maternal pride that my little baby bear was able to come to that considerate and understanding decision. I've been telling him that being responsible in the small things will lead to people trusting him with bigger things, and I can see that he really tries to be responsible for the tiniest things - be it putting his cutlery or tableware in the sink after he is done eating, pushing the chairs of the dining table in, making his bed or even hanging his uniform up after he is done. He also does quiet time without being told to an

John 16:33

But I'm not abandoned. The Father is with me. I've told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I've conquered the world. (MSG) I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] (AMP) These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will[ a ] have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (NKJV) Some Christians get very disheartened at the face of any trials but they forget that we live in a fallen world, trials are part and parcel of the nature of this fallen world. Praise God tho' that we live in this

Love Song to the Father

Without you Nothing makes sense Without you My pain had no end So I chose to run to You And I chose to lean on You Every breath Took so much strength And with each step I gave all that I am But You gave me wings to soar Now my heart is free to sing Your song You are my true love My first and only My heavenly Daddy I see Your beauty Everywhere I look I see Your love for me You are my Saviour The one and only Kinsman Redeemer I sing Holy Holy I just want to praise Your Name To rest in Your embrace All I do is to glorify You All I have is Your blessing so true What am I without Your love? Food for thought on Anger

I've always been interested in the Nooma series - but a bit pricey. ^.^" The points he brings up are really good to chew and think about.

Knowing when to "Drop Out" and let God

Image
I love Lego Batman which i play with Ian and Kae. Sometimes when I can't get my character over an obstacle, i "drop out", let the computer take over to follow Ian or Kae's character, and resume once the coast is clear. Sometimes i stubbornly hang on and we spend lots of wasted time waiting for me to clear the obstacle. I'm not trying to encourage people to not persevere in the face of trials. Rather, I hope to encourage you to learn when and how to let go and let God take control of a situation. Being quite a stubborn girl in my youth I have learned precious lessons about letting go. It's not weak to let go and surrender to God a circumstance. Rather, it takes strength, discernment, humility to take a step back, admit your inadequacy, and allow your Heavenly Potter to mould the clay that you are. Never be too proud because pride comes before fall. But yes, we all need to fall a few times before we learn how to walk, to ride a bike... Our spiritual walk is no d

The Strength of The LORD

Our relationship with God should be a proactive one. He is our defender and has provided us with an arsenal of heavenly weapons, but we need to pick them up and use them. A soldier at war doesn't go into battle empty handed. He goes armed. But it's pointless if he is armed but has no idea how to apply or use his weapon. He needs to read the manual. Our Bible is both our manual and our weapon- "God is strong, and He wants you strong. So take everything He has set out for you, well made weapons of the best materials. Put them to use so you'll be able to stand up to everything that the Devil throws your way... Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than just words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God&#

Choosing to overcome our Moods

I read this the other day in an email and thought I'd share it here coz it is so applicable =D - I was startled when a woman wrote, "It takes commitment to be filled with joy. In fact, it takes the dedication of your whole life." My first reaction was, "Isn't joy something that God just gives you?" But, as I thought about it, I realized she was right; it does take dedication and commitment to live a joyful life. Why? Because it's so easy to be ruled by the tyranny of our moods! Before we know it, the "I-don't-feel-like-its" can ruin your prayer life, praise life and fruitfulness. What about you? Have you gone to bed tonight completely dominated by one mood or another...so "wound up" that you can't get to sleep...so low that you never want to get up again? If so, God wants to give you a precious gift tonight. He wants to give you a new attitude toward overcoming these moods. He wants you to welcome them as opportunities to t

Meditating on God's faithfulness...

I love looking at the Cross I bought to hang up on a pillar between the hall and the dining area. Etched upon it are the lyrics to "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" which were inspired by the words of Lamentations 3:22-23- "Because of the LORD'S great love we are NOT consumed, for His compassions NEVER fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." There are days when I am magic-wiping the floor when I'd stop to look at the lyrics. Sometimes Kae and I would sing it together. I'd carry him and we'd sing it a couple of times. There is just something so heartening about that song. I like knowing that there is no turning of shadow with my Heavenly Daddy- His Light is constantly and always focused on me. Like the spotlight of a stage, it shines upon me strongly and individually. That's the thing about Him- He loves us all but He also loves us individually and knows us inside out one by one. I'd like to think that even though there is a c

Anointing Oil- Testimony

Last Friday, Kaelen (6 going on 7) was playing the living room by himself at around 8am. My husband was preparing to head out for work, and I was in the room with him. Suddenly, we heard a loud crashing sound. It sound like an entire dish rack of plates had fallen to the ground. Dashing out, we were met with the sight of my son standing amidst a sea of glass. It looked as if a bomb had landed in our living room. Our fully glass living room table, about a metre in length and a quarter of metre in width, had somehow broken diagonally and the half that had fallen off crashed to the ground sending glass flying all over the hall and dining area. I collected 2 buckets full of glass that were about half an arm in length and terribly jagged and took 2 hours to clean off all the glass dust, glass shards of myriad sizes. Despite the glass flying all over the house, my son who stood right beside the table, and later amidst the rubble of glass, was completely unharmed . A little shaken perhaps, bu

Baptism - ritualistic??? Not to me. =)

I have not written in a while as I pondered what baptism means. I'd asked a friend, a believer of many more years than I, to literally take the plunge to become a baptised believer with her newly minted believer of a fiance. She then threw this question at me - "Isn't that being ritualistic?" Well, that prompted much quiet time - seeking the Word and just dwelling in Him- and the answer is NO - Baptism is NOT ritualistic, NOT some OT or legalistic deal. After Christ rose from the dead and before His ascent into Heaven, He'd instructed the disciples to go forth and to baptise believers. So if it was rituatlistic/legalistic, instead of being part of the New Covenant we now enjoy in Christ Jesus, He would not have given them such an instruction right? =) Yes, first we confess with our mouth, and more importantly, with our hearts, that Christ is the Saviour Redeemer of our lives (ie. saying the Sinner's Prayer) - but that just secures our eternal salvation. Baptis

Jesus and Prayer

When Jesus had sent the multitude away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. - Matt 14:23 If Jesus needed to pray, how can we do less? :) Shalom. (Picture was drawn by Kaelen. Prayer of Deliverance

"Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the GOODNESS of the LORD in THE LAND OF THE LIVING. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."
