Personal Quiet Time #1

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. - Psalm 1

LORD represents our Covenant friend, our LORD Christ Jesus. =)
The Law here? Not the 10 commandments.

“… Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first (COVENANT which stood ONLY in meats and drinks and divers washings and Carnal Ordinances), that he may establish the second (Heb. 8:13, 10: 8 – 9).”

So we know from here that Jesus has taken away the first covenant (10 commandments aka LAW) to establist the second covenant (aka GRACE!)

Paul states in Hebrews 9:16-17: “For where a Testament (Covenant) is there must of necessity be the death of the Testator (Yahshua). For a Testament is of force AFTER men are dead, otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.”

So what do we have because we are in Grace?

"But when the fullness of the time was come, Yahweh sent forth His son made of a woman, made UNDER THE LAW, to redeem them that were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption of sons (Ga. 4:4-5, see chart on p. 10).”

Yes. We have son-ship!

Knowing we have son-ship through Christ, we now know we have the divine authority over the devil and his legion of evil. We are protected. Jesus is our shepherd (so we shall not want - Psalm 23) and our door (see Jn 10:17) - this means to get to you or harm you in any way, the evil ones have to go through Him first! =D The only way we open ourselves to their attacks, is if we step out of Christ and try to DIY basedo n our own efforts.

Because we are secure in that perfect love and perfect promise and are sealed by the Holy Spirit, we are planted by the streams of living water as we continue to abide in the LORD - spending time meditating on those wonderful promises in His ultimate love letter, The Bible. We won't wither in the face of trouble, we will bear good fruit in all that we do, and we will prosper!

Praise Jesus! Our family will not wither or fade or lack because we stand firm on the promises of Christ in all ways. God is so good! =D
