Pastor Prince preaching in Netherlands

Be freed from the condemnation the world sets on U...

I felt very sad reading the comments on Hillsongs' Desert Song video link... the worship leader gave a brilliant testimony but people commented on how she was being punished for her sins by God or that we must depend on our efforts not God's... all sorts of nonsense. The devil just has to try to dilute God's good work in people's grace filled testimony in the video through those comments - to affect those who watch the videos and felt moved... to raise doubts in Christ and His finished work. Any one not well grounded in Christ and His Word will easily feel their faith shaking under the various accusing comments. I chanced on this sermon by Pastor that was online... it has no title except for Hillsong 2007, I didn't listen to the sermon first but sent it out to some people because I know that the Hillsong 2007 materials are really good. When I heard it... WOW! God knows what to say to who and when and how... =) Like I said, this sermon is wonderfully touching ... I c

Grace... Grace...

Wow... what a day =) We went to register Kae for Primary One this morning and had an encounter with a lady who was helping with the event. She was quite rude, referring to some issues we had as "problem case". You see, my ex's name is on my son's birth cert. He sompa-ed that he is my son's Dad. We were never married. As a result Ian and I were not sure how to fill up some forms for the registration due to some of these unique circumstances. The same lady later also commented quite audibly that "This year got a lot of problem cases ah..." Then whilst a teacher tended to us, she told the teacher, "Eh problem cases put here, put here." I felt quite affronted because was it a hint that we are a "problem case" so we should be ostracised? Also the MOE Annex forms were another mystery altogether. I am sure I am not the only person who was a single mother who got married to another man later on in life. There were no Annex forms for this situ

Shalom my friend, Shalom...

God ministers to us in very simple and beautiful ways. I am always rejoicing in Him when something I posted acts as a post-it note from our Heavenly Daddy to anyone reading the blog. I received a wonderful message from my Chi Chi's very lovely SIL about God's ministering to her so I am also blubbering now ^.^ Daddy's love amazes me always. It has happened a few times - strangers log onto my blog and then tell me something I blogged during my quiet time reflection touched them or ministered to them and their needs there and then. I bump into a long lost classmate or friend or Christian stranger, and we both know it is no coincidence... and the interactions between us further confirms us. It has happened to me also when I've read other blogs /daily devos as well... it is like when U read it, U just know God knew exactly your anxieties and made sure He uses someone or something to minister his reassurance. =D He loves us that much... =) I remember once I was 15 and deeply

No - we do not idolize Pastor Prince lah... Jesus is our Number One Superhero!

Malcolm blogged yesterday on how people mistake him for idolizing Pastor Prince . When I read it I was thinking "Ya! Har nor!" ("Yes! Exactly!" Here are my comments on his blog (I edited my ang mor a bit... I blogged too late at night and phrased some stuff a bit more clumsily) =D: Hey Malcolm, I sooooo know what you mean. I think my parents and some friends have that same thought about those of us in NCC. Haha. I also want to state it clearly that I dun idolize Ps Prince, and like you, I have really come to love my LORD and Servant King more and more under his anointed teachings (that come NOT from his own wisdom, but because like us - according to the Word of God, he also has the mind of Christ). His message is Holy Spirit anointed and may we never ever think that it comes from his smarts or attribute glory to him but to HIM -our Heavenly Abba. I also listen a lot to Joyce Meyer and read other anointed pastors as well as the BIBLE itself, so my growing understan

That Swensons Voucher - Again?!?!

We received double blessings. Hallelujah! I went to collect a registered mail last evening from the Post Office - and it was again from SPH with another voucher for a complimentary meal and dessert addressed to us! Praise God! =) Now we can actually have a free paktor meal together - both fully paid! Ian and I are always grateful for blessings both big and small... they are all so wonderful because they remind us how much our Daddy in Heaven loves us. Yayness! =D

Heigho Heigho A Registeration We Will Go...

Well, it is THE DAY... Phase 2C and the registering for a spot for Kaelen in the school near our place, Kheng Cheng Primary School. Last weekend, I bumped into Ling Lao Shi, my 'hold no punches back' Chinese teacher from St.Nicks. Amazing but she recognized me. Introduced her to Ian and Kae who were with me, and man is she as sharp as ever. "You got married shortly after you graduated from your studies is it?" Her maths is very good ha ha ha. =) I used to get scolded a lot by her because I was not the best student to have for Chinese class - I was quite jialak last time. Well, she asked me where I would be putting Kae, and I said Kheng Cheng Pri School as it is just across the road from where we live in Toa Payoh. "Kheng Cheng is good. It is a pretty good primary school." That was the reaffirmation I needed. Abba knew it which was why He placed her there. She must have been wondering why she was standing next to the staircase. Well, HE put her there to put m

Pastor Mark Ng - humble, humorous, honest

Whenever Pastor Mark Ng comes to the English service to preach, the auditorium is filled with so much love for Christ and so much laughter. Pastor Mark's not very educated so his English is quite "terok" (not grammatical) but his sheer, earnest desire to share about Christ's love for us never fails to move. His sermons are honest, humorous and heartfelt - which is why he is so loved and respected by the NCC congregation. Whilst Pastor Prince's sermons are all over youtube, I also wanted to put Pastor Mark's sermons online for people to have a listen to - both in English, Mandarin and Hokkien. I will do it slowly but surely. I feel that the gospel of grace should reach the Chinese speaking youtube-izens as well... not everyone understands English, so hopefully the sermons in other languages will help to touch hearts for Christ on youtube as well. I am posting the sermon "Hua Ren De Mi Xing"(or the Superstitions of the Chinese) in seven parts on youtu

Singing my own happy refrain as I dance in the Rain

An impending deadline to meet and still experiencing quite the writer's block. BUT I refuse to be kancheong . Instead, I choose to sing and dance like Gene Kelly through the situation. Afterall, I have the mind of Christ - who else can be more creative than The Creator? Amen?! Hehe. =D Here's my reflection of the song SINGING IN THE RAIN ((in brackets)) =D I'm singing in the rain ((I will praise Jesus through the storm)) Just singing in the rain ((I will keep on praising Him)) What a glorious feeling ((It is amazing this grace that fills me with hope and love)) I'm happy again ((The joy of the LORD is my strength)) I'm laughing at clouds so dark up above ((I fear not because perfect love casts off all fear and anxieties in me. Hallelujah! I choose not to look at facts but at The Truth - God is for me, so what circumstances or who can be against me? =D )) The sun's in my heart and I'm ready for love... ((The SON's in my heart and because He first l

Joyce Meyer's August "Enjoying Everyday Life" mag is out! =D

Joshua 3:3 says, …When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God being borne by the Levitical priests, set out from where you are and follow it. The ark represents the anointing of God …the presence of God…the will of God. It’s very important for us to learn to follow the will of God and not our own will or the will of others . God has a plan for you and me, and the only way to see that plan unfold is to follow the ark, or the will of God, and not our flesh, not other people, not our emotions. The ark of the covenant of the Lord contained the Ten Commandments . Here, it represents the will of God . (important to note - Joyce is not saying we are under law, but in this particular scenario in the passage quoted, the 10 commandments represent God's will. We are under grace and under the new covenant. =D) The children of Israel had this reminder before them of what they were supposed to do. It also contained manna —a reminder of the miraculous provision of the Lord . You an

I love Sound of Music

I have watched this show so many times I have lost count. Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer - goose pimples! =) The chemistry between them was wonderful. And their voices... swoons. My favourite song from Sound of Music that I love to sing to Ian... grins. Found this pretty well cut tribute video by a fan... watching them age through the years and reprising roles as a screen couple. Very sweet.

The much missed Muppet Show =D

I love the Muppets! I would like to someday buy the Muppet Show for my family... it was such incredibly good, clean and fun family entertainment. =D I remember I used to borrow the DVD from the library (Esplanade Library) for Kae to watch. The guest stars include Julie Andrews, John Denver and Linda Ronstadt to name just a few. PLEASE bring back the Muppet Show!!!!! Isn't it obvious kids and adults still love these puppets?????? =D

With Everything - Hillsong

Open our eyes To see the things that make Your heart cry To be the church that You would desire Your light to be seen Break down our pride And all the walls we’ve built up inside Our earthly crowns and all our desires We lay at Your feet Let hope rise And darkness tremble In Your holy light That every eye will see Jesus our God Great and mighty to be praised God of all days Glorious in all of Your ways Oh the majesty the wonder and grace In the light of Your Name With everything With everything We will shout for Your glory With everything With everything We will shout forth Your praise Our hearts they cry Be glorified Be lifted high above all names For You our King With everything We will shout forth Your praise
If it is God's Will, it is God's Bill. If it is God's vision, He will bring the provision. - Rev Casy Treat (Footnote: Praise God! Just finished typing the above when the doorbell rang. It was the postman. Upon opening the registered letter he delivered to us from SPH, I found out that God's blessed us with a Swenson's voucher for a free meal and desert! =D Hallelujah! God is good all the time!)

Speak Life

Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath [ a ] enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.' " So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.' " So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a va

On Faith and Hope -

Without hope, without vision we give up on life. Hope is what you believe and desire for your future. Faith says God is working NOW. NOW Faith is. Hope is for tomorrow and faith is for today... but they have to be put together. Faith brings substance to hope. If you have a desire, add faith to it and you will have it. - Rev. Casey Treat (click for sermon - "Your Vision is Your future")

Confess God's Promises of Good over your life

... not just once but every moment, every day! You can't speak/confess positively over your situation once, go on to speak negatively over it repeatedly after that and expect things to turn around. Everything we speak is like a seed that we sow. Sow good seeds, receive blessings. Sow bad seeds with our mouth and expect trouble. =p I was reading one of the books by anointed pastor and preacher Charles Capp recently. Very eye opening. Just to share the gist of what he talked about in his book: God has sent angels to minister over us. They accomplish what we speak over ourselves as we have the gift of free will. Perhaps this is something you haven't realised yet. I've only just learned about this too. Hehe. (BTW we have 2/3 of all the Angels to command to encamp around ourselves, our family, our daily situations. The other 1/3 are the fallen ones that you might not want hanging around you. Grins) When you speak things that are contrary (ie lies that the devil put it in you to

God-incidental meeting - a new friendship is born =)

I was at HDB Hub's canteen yesterday evening waiting for my all-time favourite rojak. (MAJOR deviation from my blog topic for a bit: Soon Heng Rojak is the best! I've eaten this guy's rojak from when he sold it from the back of his bicycle, kerosene lamp lighting up the darkness just enough for him to mix the delicious concoction, to when he sold rojak in a defunct foodcourt in Toa Payoh, to when he set up stall in Bedok... it is like wherever he goes, I somehow find him. I LOVE THEIR ROJAK! The you tiao is crispy as are the tao pok... Generous amounts of peanut and cuttlefish and pineapple... so sedap! And because they are so popular, the stal actually displays the number of the customer being served. When you order rojak from them, you get a plastic chip with your customer number on it.) I was plugged into Joyce Meyer's podcast on my mobile phone and reading her book "8 Ways To Keep The Devil Under Your Feet" during "commercial breaks" in the podca

Jesus reigns in the Storm

Last night during care group, we listened to one of Pastor's Live in Israel sermons. Our Care Group leader then asked us to reflect on it. Each of us had a different rhema about the scripture He spoke about and what was discussed in the sermon. This is mine... Immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed, for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened. - Mark 6:50(b)-52 This passage in the bible was talking about how Christ saw his disciples struggling in the boat during a storm and came to them on the 4th watch of the night, the darkest hours of the night, walking on the water to them. What touched me firstly was that... - He had his eyes on them and before they could cry out for help, He went to them. - He was there during the DARKEST night (4th watch is the darkest watch of the night) ... sometimes in our darkes

To my sisters out there who are hurting... (may it touch whoever it needs to touch)

My dear sister, I know it can be difficult riding out your relationship problems with the other half. Some times it feels even as if the relationship has hollowed you out completely and you feel so alone, so tired and so empty. I can't say I understand totally what you are going through exactly as we all have different experiences, but I have been in my fair share of bad relationships and my fair share of heartache. I know how much it hurts - sometimes so much, that it feels like you are dying inside. I want you to know that where you are now, Jesus is with you. He is holding you tight and loving you amidst the storm. He is loving you in spite of what you've done, in spite of what you've become, in spite of the angry words your boyfriend said or the negative criticisms the world tosses at you. I remember a secular song I once loved to listen and sing to which spoke about how a girl was trying to find her Saviour in the men she dated. Sometimes, we do not realise this but we

A beautiful new worship song from Hillsong...

It just came out this June!!)

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

I am still quite the baby Christian so there are a lot of old Christian hymns that I've never heard of before. One of them touched my heart recently and I first heard at the funeral support audition. It is called "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus". The lyrics felt like an overflowing fountain as they washed over me. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace. Many a times when we do something wrong, we can't bear to look our Heavenly Daddy in His eyes. We fear condemnation, we are a washed by the condemning lies of the enemy. I spent some years crying in the darkness, alone and afraid and guilt ridden. I hurt myself outside to try to make it feel less painful inside. I contemplated being my own judge and taking my own life. I felt like I had disappointed Jesus so much, how could He possibly love me any more after all that? All I heard was the cacophony of lies that I was a

God is my victory and HE IS HERE

DESERT SONG (sorry the title was previously in yellow & couldn't be seen because my website used to be a darker shade) Words and Music by Brooke Fraser VERSE 1: This is my prayer in the desert When all that’s within me feels dry This is my prayer in my hunger and need My God is the God who provides VERSE 2: This is my prayer in the fire In weakness or trial or pain There is a faith proved Of more worth than gold So refine me Lord through the flame CHORUS: I will bring praise I will bring praise No weapon formed against me shall remain I will rejoice I will declare God is my victory and He is here VERSE 3: This is my prayer in the battle When triumph is still on its way I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ So firm on His promise I’ll stand BRIDGE: All of my life In every season You are still God I have a reason to sing I have a reason to worship VERSE 4: This is my prayer in the harvest When favour and providence flow I know I’m filled to be emptied again The seed I’ve rece

Jesus You're ALL I Need

In the face of an annoying achey back from over-exertion and from sitting too much, this song, Healer, ministered beautifully for me. My God is a God of ALL THINGS POSSIBLE. Nothing is impossible for Him and He reigns in my life and in every circumstance and every trouble and every trial that I face. Hallelujah! Thank you Heavenly Daddy that You go before me to make all my paths prosperous (or else You won't send me there) and encamp Your angels around me. I rest in You and trust in You. I have the mind of Christ, the shalom peace He has promised. I trust in You because You love me so much.AMEN.

On Law and Grace

LAW It is interesting to note that the ten commandments (Law) were issued in the remote and barren Sinai desert. Desert is a biblical symbol of desolation and temptation. There is no living water in the desert... just dust, and dust represents futility. Sinai means "teeth" or "devouring power". The ten commandments were given in such a setting. GRACE The new commandment Jesus gave to us was given on the day of the Passover or day of the Unleavened Bread - where the Passover Lamb was to be sacrificed. It also was the evening of the symbolic last supper. The new commandment was given after the Son of God had shown an example of humility and servitude (washing of feet symbolises Christ's atoning sacrifice, self-surrender - versus devouring power of Sinai), after He had broken the bread and offered the wine ( symbolical of His redemptive sacrifice on the Cross that we remember today through partaking of the holy communion). CONCLUSION I end with this reminder - &qu

Singapore Botanic Gardens - I didn't realise how big it is

Image
We brought Kae to the botanic gardens on Saturday. We intended to do that the week before but were to zonked out, so we tried to honour our promise this time. Our goal was to check out the Jacob Ballas Children's Garden. We started off from the Orchard Road side and after walking two and a half hours, and with the help of a map (we picked up an hour into walking), we arrived at the Children's Garden which was close to the Bukit Timah entrance. *Faints* The sad thing was it started to rain just when Kae started to try out the playground... and it didn't look like it would stop before 7pm when the children garden closes. After waiting half an hour, we decided to head back. The bears were kinda tired from all the walking. Kae was initially quite devastated - "You mean we walked all this way for nothing?" We comforted him that at least we now know where the garden is, we can head for it straightaway next time instead of walking the long long way there. Besides, it was

Hairdressing and a chance to evangelise

Image
I went to the Hairdressers yesterday and altho' my favourite hairdresser was busy, the trip was a fruitful one - not just because my very voluminous hair was trimmed to cope with the sweltering heat, but also because I got to evangelise to two of the hair assistants that help her. =) It began with one of them commenting on the crucifix I had being very unique. It looks like three nails bound together to form the cross - representative also of the nails that were driven into our LORD. I told her I had bought it from my church... she commented on how she thought most crosses have wings and her colleague chirped in how most had Jesus pinned on to it. Their comments opened the door to sharing about my journey from Law to Grace. I am glad that I got to sow some seeds and the one who attended to me mostly had a pretty good chat with me about her thoughts and we shared the fundamentals of what grace is, what Christ's death on the cross really means and how we are first forgiven before

The Prosperity Gospel is the Gospel of Victory through Grace...

"Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do." - Deut 29:9 The word "prosper" here is "sakal" in Hebrew. Sakal means - to be expert, to instruct, to prosper, to deal prudently, to be skillful, to have good success, to teach, to have understanding, to have wisdom/ to be wise, to guide wittingly, to be victorious. Most people mistakenly think that prosperity means just wealth. Prosperity encompasses more than wealth! It is about having a victorious lifestyle in every area of your life... to be fruitful in all that you do. The wealth is just the bonus. When you are victorious in Christ in every area of your life, you can't help but be blessed financially. AND I believe that when I am blessed financially too - and why not I can bless others more. I dun believe in the whole be rich and be corrupted, be poor and be holier theory. If you are well-grounded in Christ, your bedrock and foundation, and you serve H

Kae sings Beautiful Friday

I know it is still another day to go before we hit Friday. Lol but Kae's singing is so cheery. You can sing along to it and change Friday to Thursday or any other day of the week of your choice. Hehe. =D He learned this in Living Sanctuary Kindergarten where he in in K2. Be greatly blessed in Christ!!!

A Strange Dream

I had a strange dream last night. I dreamt that Ian and I were watching TV when some stranger came into our room, he was demon possessed and was trying to attack us. Ian and I quickly took hold of our anointing oil (I have two bottles of bodyshop olive oil spray and a smaller perfume spray container of extra virgin oil that has been prayed over in my room. I carry the latter out with me usually) and anointed each other for protection. We then managed to spray the anointing oil on the guy and prayed over him. He suddenly came conscious after a struggle and got up, groggy and surprised about where he was. He walked out of our room. And you know, when spirits leave a body, they try to find another body to take over right? So another person who was possessed came in to our room. Ian and I were surprised and again we managed to pray over the person and anoint him. This happened a few times, until it hit me the gate was being attacked. So whilst Ian subdued and prayed over one person, I head
The kid's voice is cute and adorably "zao siah" (out of tune) ... when Kae sings he also goes zao siah like that sometimes... hehe. I have never heard this song "Father God" before but it is apparently from New Creation Church. =D I think it is from the very earlier days of our church. Some praise and worship song I love to listen and sing

Personal Reflections after The Dark Knight and on Spiritual Warfare

" The LORD is my shepherd, and nothing shall I want." - Psalm 23 God is so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last night, just close to finishing up my scriptwriting work, Ian dropped me a line to tell me we got free movie tickets (yes again! praise you Jesus!!) to the gala premiere of The Dark Knight!! Ian and I had been feeling the pinch of buying movie tickets earlier this year with the rising price of tickets and all... and we confessed that Daddy will provide and has He provided!! We've hardly bought tickets since that prayer as He has flooded us with free tickets after free tickets... Thank you Jesus so very much. HUGS!!!!!!!! Please keep those tickets coming my Abba, my Daddy God! =D A crucial note for parents - The Dark Knight imho is not for kids. Kae's been looking forward to watching it, but Ian and I do not want to take him for it. Not appropriate for his age. There is quite a bit of violence and disturbing images for the little ones. Don't worry... no spo
