Kae's graduated from Kindergarten... =)
Kae graduated last night after 3 years in Living Sanctuary Kindergarten. We've seen him grow so much during the time he spent there.
Watching the little-r ones on stage, I could not help but recall how tiny our boy was when he first embarked on his journey in the school under the watchful eyes and love of the principal and her team of teachers. We've attended each concert and each sports day watching Kae confidently showing off newfound skills. I must admit that I will miss these events, but I look forward to the ones he will have in Primary School.
The graduation ceremony started with the principal's heartfelt address where she spoke about the school and the love for the children. I felt tears welling and spilling out when she spoke about how a child under their care was discovered to be ill with cancer. As a mum, it pained me to know that someone so tiny could suffer so much.
She then sang a beautiful song that summed up the teacher's heart - that at the end of the day, every teacher will ask one question - did they do all they can for the little ones for Christ.
At that point I whispered to the hubby that I would dearly love for our future kids to attend LSK too - the teachers are wonderful and Kae's grown up with the values and attitude that we would like our other kids too as well.
When Kae walked up the stage to receive his graduation cert from the school, I felt so proud of him =D He was in his gown and mortar board and walked so regally to shake his principal's hand. Then he gave the slightest, most dignified bow. He was so careful and slow as he did not want to risk losing his mortar board to the floor. It brought on a chuckle amongst the parents. =)
After the certs were given out, the K2 kids performed their graduation song and again, my eyes were only on my baby bear ( i was recording it mah). He did so well. He remembered all the actions and all the lyrics. And when the children were prayed over, his eyes were shut ever so tight and he was so deep in prayer as little ones often are.
After that, the kids went off to change into their concert costumes and the Living Sanctuary Church's Senior Pastor came to give his speech. I prayed in my heart that the non-believer parents would be touched by the speech and their kid's growth in Christ.
The pastor showed a video to us and spoke about how in society, evil lurks patiently in hopes of targetting our kids but as parents and teachers work together in Christ to repel them as a team, we can keep our kids safe and influence them with the love of Jesus.
Love the way the adult buffalos reacted in the video... =)
The kids returned after the exhortation for more performances. Each class performed to a song. They started with the babies of the lot - the 3 year olds. Kae's class was the last to perform, but it was worth the wait.
The song they danced to was "Worthy Is The Lamb". In his blue satin shirt and black pants, we felt Kae looked so smart and handsome! =D They did so well despite the complicated choreography and I couldn't stop tearing. Hehe.
After they were done, the children all performed together a series of songs and the concert came to a close after the K2 students performed another medley of songs to a set of dances.
After we picked him up from his classroom, Kae took Ian, Dad, mum and I to check out his coursework that was on show. We were so amused by his submission for maths.
$1 -> 100 cents =D LOL!!
