Bible Treasures =D Part 1 - THIRTY PIECES OF SILVER
According to Exodus 21:32, 30 shekels of silver was the payment to the master of a servant gored to death by another's ox. Amounting to a month's salary, it was the typical price of a slave in those days. Jesus Christ, the almighty God was betrayed for 30 miserable pieces of silver, rejected as King and valued as a mere slave. This was no coincidence, On the cross, He took the lowly position of a slave so hat we might reign in life as royalty in Christ.
As a mark of significance and the accuracy of the Bible, it is interesting to note that the prophet Zechariah foretold in Zechariah 11:12 the payment of such an amount for the Messiah or the Great Shepherd about 500 years before it actually occured.
In verse 13, Zechariah adds that the money was thrown "into the house of the LORD for the potter".
Moving forward to the time of Jesus' death, Matthew recounts that Judas was filled with remorse for betraying Jesus and would not keep the 30 pieces of silver he got. Significantly, he threw the silver into the temple ("house of the LORD") and the priests bought the "potter's field" with the money,
Quoting Matthew Henry's 'Complete Commentary On The Whole Bible', "Even that sudden resolve of the chief priests was according to an ancient prophecy and the more ancient counsel and foreknowledge of God"

Zechariah 11:12-13 (New International Version)
12 I told them, "If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep it." So they paid me thirty pieces of silver.
13 And the LORD said to me, "Throw it to the potter"-the handsome price at which they priced me! So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD to the potter.

As He is, so are we in this world.
