Patience and more patience for each new day...

Do not rashly beget an Ishmael lest he become the greatest enemy to Isaac. - Watchman Nee

In our lives, we so often hunger for success to come and to come faster sometimes we try to take the "shortcut" to what we feel will help us attain our goals. BUT so often, this self-striving and decision to DIY leads us deeper in trouble instead.

I like Watchman Nee's quote above to remind us not to strive in our lives by our own wills but to wait patiently for God's blessings in our life to bear fruit so we can harvest it.
Sometimes our self-striving actually prevents us from receiving God's blessings!

Seeds do not sprout and grow and bear fruit instantly like the orange tree trick Edward Norton's character did in The Illusionist (hence the movie title) =D. They take time to take root and grow from stage to stage before they can bear sweet fruits. It all takes patience and understanding that God does not operate according to our "cut off" time but according to His Time - which is perfectly perfect.

We planted a packet of mimosa seeds, Kae and I. We like the touch-me-not's shy nature so we waited excitedly for the little leaves to sprout out. We watered it, fertilised it, talked to it. Days passed - nothing; weeks passed - still nothing. We gave up on it but left it out on the patio anyway.

Then when we were not looking at it any more, the patch started to sprout leaves!! =D

An old saying is that the water won't boil if you keep looking at the kettle... or that it boils slower or something like that lol.

Sometimes, we just need to stop focusing on that lack and let go for the grace to pour into that emptiness to fill it with His blessings... and remember always, when it is His blessings, sorrow does not come attached to it.
