Hip Hip Huper-ay! =D Rom 8:31 is so much more!!

What shall we then say to these things If God be for us who can be against us? - Romans 8:31

The words "be for" represents the original Greek word "huper" which means exceedingly and abundantly above and beyond on our behalf; chief concern.

That took my breath away - did it take yours away too????? I read this definition 10 minutes ago and I am still chewing on it and taking in all the abundant "nutrition" this little bit of manna has for me. =D

I mean WOW... it is His chief concern to be exceedingly and abundantly above and beyond to go and conquer our everyday giants for us, on our behalf! Who am I to deserve all this???

Selah.

I am His child redeemed by the blood of His Son, our Saviour King! =) May I not forget WHOSE I am and WHO I am IN CHRIST whilst I rest in His victory with each daily battlefield of the mind.

Another wonderful reason to rejoice and worship His wonderful majesty!! If He is for us, we WILL prevail!

Who would set the briers and thorns against HIM in battle? HE would go through them. HE would burn them together" (Isa 27:4).

Comforting to know I am safe ALWAYS in my Father's arm - the enemy can try to rock the boat, but Jesus is sitting in it with me & the wind and the waves remember His command - Shalom. Be still. =D The devil is so powerless in the face of Christ's glory in our lives. WOOHOO!

This encourages our faith and hope; for, as for God, his way, his work, is perfect. The apostle speaks as one amazed, and swallowed up in admiration, wondering at the height and depth, and length and breadth, of the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge. The more we know of other things, the less we wonder; but the further we are led into gospel mysteries, the more we are affected by them. While God is for us, and we keep in his love, we may with holy boldness defy all the powers of darkness - Matthew Henry's concise commentary on Rom 8:31

Sometimes I do feel English just does not do God's glory enough justice. =D

Also read this in Matthew Henry's bible commentary for Romans 8:37** of the bible. I feel that it is so edifying I had to share it. I feel IMHO it is exceedingly good to keep this rooted firmly in our hearts, especially in the face of trying times. -

"It is only through Christ that loved us, the merit of his death taking the sting out of all these troubles, the Spirit of his grace strengthening us, and enabling us to bear them with holy courage and constancy, and coming in with special comforts and supports. Thus we are conquerors, not in our own strength, but in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. We are conquerors by virtue of our interest in Christ's victory. He hath overcome the world for us (Jn. 16:33), both the good things and the evil things of it; so that we have nothing to do but to pursue the victory, and to divide the spoil, and so are more than conquerors."

** "But in all these we more than conquer, through him who loved us" - Romans 8:37 // "然 而 , 靠 着 爱 我 们 的 主 , 在 这 一 切 的 事 上 已 经 得 胜 有 馀 了 " -羅 馬 書 8:37

Let us always maintain an up-look rather than an outlook as our GOD IS BIGGER than the mountains and giants that are in our way - He has gone ahead of us to secure the victory.

Remember to have a good opinion of Him in the face of all trials. =D As the scripture always reminds us - "we are in this world, but we are not of this world"; and our Father in Heaven knows what we need to get by in this world as victors not slaves. =)

Don't look at the financial crisis and whatever-crisis-there-is-present through flesh eyes but through His eyes - the same way David looked at Goliath & thus conquered the giant. =D See the abundance not the lack - our God is a God of plenty, not a God of little.

Have an absolutely and abundantly blessed Thursday... God's favour shine upon you all brightly so that His glory is brilliantly displayed in your lives! May He give you faith where faith waivers and may you prosper in every way just as your soul prospers in Christ Jesus. AMEN. =)

"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned."

-- Isaiah 9:2
