Speak Life

Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath [a] enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.' "

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone.

I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but
there was no breath in them.

Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.' " So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.

- Ezek 37:4-10

I felt very ministered by this passage in the bible and felt like sharing it. I came across it last night. Just wanted to share with you my reflections on it here.

Bones represent the ruined and desperate... situations that seem impossible to remedy. And here we see a valley full of it...Impossible circumstances after impossible circumstances...

BUT praise God! Our God is a God of ALL THINGS POSSIBLE (not just some things possible)!!!

No matter how dead circumstances around us seem, if we speak God's LIFE into them, God can raise the circumstances - not just one of them but a valley-full of worth of broken dreams and hopes.

He can raise a child that seems hopeless. He can raise funds for a debt you have problems paying back. He can raise health in a person whose body is broken. Praise God! =D

Our God is a God of RESTORATION and that life and restoration comes through CHRIST'S PERFECT WORK ON THE CROSS.

When Christ died on the cross, He overpaid for our sins so that the curses of the law and the enemy no longer have a hold over us. His work was perfect! So many of us believe otherwise and it brings no glory to our Saviour King when we believe wrongly.

What we say over ourselves and every area of our life matters. We either declare victory in Christ or we declare defeat by the enemy over ourselves by what we speak.

It is so important for all of us to learn how to speak God's promises of blessings over our health, our career, our family, our relationship, our finances... instead of making careless remarks that bear no good fruit for us.

The wind or breath in the quote above is an emblem of the Spirit of God, and represented his quickening powers.

When we prophecise over a situation, God can bring it together. But notice that Ezekiel prophecised not once but twice. The first time he prophecise bones started coming together but it is only when he prophecised to the breath that it all sprung to life!

Similary, when we first pray and confess over a situation, things begin to come together, but we shouldn't stop there and be discouraged!

We should continue to prophesy good over it and to pray the Spirit of God into the situation so that God can quicken the restoration process.

God has vast blessings for all of us in every area of our lives, but until we learn to speak His Zoe Life into them, these areas oft remain dry like the bones.

The power is indeed in what we say because Christ has given us the authority to speak forth our victory. We are more than conquerors in Christ and HE who is in us is GREATER than he who is of this world.

We can choose to speak life or speak death... the power is in our confession.

I love the lyrics to Joe Pace's SPEAK LIFE... it is a gospel song (quite old school sort of music, but wow the lyrics = powerful stuff).

Leaving you with it. =D

1- Have you ever been in a dry place?
Couldn’t show it on your face
And you’d cry inside
“Lord, tell me why?”

That relationship now broken
So many hurts unspoken
And you’d die inside
“Lord, tell me why?”

V- Night after night you pray
Still nothing seems to ever change
Remember God’s Word is true
He knows the plans He has for you
By faith, this is what you must do

C- Just speak life to it
Just speak life through it
Knowing God’s not a man
That He should lie
Just hold on to it
Just go on through it
To every dry bone in your valley
Just speak life

2- Whatever happend to your dreams
You struggled with your self-esteem
And you’d cry inside
“Lord, tell me why?”

Fustration’s always on your mind
There’s been no joy for quite some time
And you’d die inside
Lord, tell me why?
