The gauntlet

I should've sent this out first. :) The gauntlet set out before the Love Dare starts. I got the book after watching Fireproof- a brilliant contrast to Revolutionary Road.

The former show revolves around a couple who has similar marital problems as Kate and Leo, but who overcomes when one half begins an amazing walk with Christ and saves his marriage.

The latter is about a couple, acted by Kate and Leo, whose troubles eventually overcome them and their future as the world consumes them- money, lust, power, broken communication, anger, regrets.

Kate tries to save her marriage via worldly means and fails. Kirk Cameron, through his Dad's challenge and Love Dare book, saves his marriage through tapping into Christ's unconditional love.

Without further ado, the gauntlet, as presented right at the start of the Love Dare book :) -

"This forty day journey cannot be taken lightly.

It's a challenging and often difficult process, but an incredibly fulfilling one. To take this dare requires a resolute mind and a steadfast determination.

It's not meant to be sampled or briefly tested, and those who quit early will forfeit the greatest benefits. If you will committ to a day at a time for empty days, the results could change your life and marriage.

Consider it a dare from others who have done it before you."
