Treasure each other

A song I feel every one should listen to. Incredibly moving lyrics.

I feel that in today's society, too many people allow the "D word" creep up into their vocab.

It is Ian's and my firm believe that for a marriage to work, the word "Divorce" must not even exist in the vocab. It cannot be considered a solution or an option to fall into. We have never included that word in our dictionary before - even when we paktor-ed (dated).

It is also our belief that a marriage takes two to clap in unison and three to have a marriage that cannot be broken (Christ being the third party)- hence the title of this blog.

A marriage is something you stand by - it is not a contract but a covenant - a promise to treasure each other, to forgive each other even when it is hard to, to love each other even in the middle of a fight, and a promise to grow old together.

There is a part of the song below that says "Love is not a fight, but it is worth fighting for." How true.

Love is not a place
to come and go as we please
It's a house we enter in
then commit to never leave

So lock the door behind you
Throw away the key
Work it out together
Let it bring us to our knees

Love is a shelter
in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for

To some love is a word
that they can fall into.
But when they're falling out
keeping that word is hard to do

Love is a shelter
in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for

Love will come to save us
If we'll only call
He will ask nothing from us
but demand we give our all

Love is a shelter
in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for.

Cause I Will Fight For You
Would You Fight For Me
It's Worth Fighting For.

  1. Thanks for posting this up. :)

    Yet, love is wisdom too. And it is wisdom... or vision... that only God can provide because it is in spite of all things else that we see with our flesh eyes. I read somewhere that, contrary to the cliche, "love is blind", love is also seeing something that others do not.

    Yet sometimes, wise love can be painful too...
