Slow Fade

I love this song. A good video with a strong precautionary message. I thought it was quite heartbreaking that the song was inspired by a kindergarten song Kae learned at school.

When married couples argue, the ones who suffer the most are not the husband or wife, but the kids.

Many husbands and wives think that the kids are too young to understand but they perceive so well from a tender age.

When Kae's bio Dad and I used to argue, he was aware. He might not have the language then to say he did, but his gestures showed he knew. Now that he can speak, we've laid it out on the table to discuss it and though I've made it clear that we should forgive and let go of what his Bio Dad had done, it is also clear that he knew what had transpired in the early years- the bickering he witnessed from baby hood to toddler hood, he remembers vividly. At age 2, he suddenly said this one day, "Stupid Daddy. Stupid Daddy always make Mummy cry." Now 7, he is still as perceptive and sensitive but because his foster Dad and my first and ONLY husband, Ian, and I have established this marriage on the bedrock of Christ, it is so diff from the prev r/s I'd been in. It really is firm and steady and because of that, Kae has adjusted well and come to be a happier child coz there are no egg shells to walk on, no cracks in the ground to navigate. =)

I have seen so many friends who were affected by their parents' divorce - so Ian and I do our very best to walk in Christ as a couple and as a family so that Kae will grow up with the assurance of a happy family.

As parents, as married couples, we have a responsibility to keep our marriage sacred not just for ourselves, but for our children's well-being.

Be careful little eyes what you see
It's the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings

Be careful little feet where you go
For it's the little feet behind you that are sure to follow

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade

Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near

Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day

The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you're thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day

Oh be careful little eyes what you see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
