Abide under His protective wings

Sometimes I think God purposely hides His plan just to keep us "walking on water". -- Joyce Meyer.

When we plan too much, we sometimes lean on our own understanding and will instead of God's. When we can't see what's round the bend, we have no choice but to lean on His understanding, His perfect will, His perfect plan that brings with them no sorrow.

Maybe it's a longer way than you'd have preferred, but if it takes you away from the lions and predators, why not? :)

Recently three men were on the Great Wall of China when they decided they wanted to take a short cut through a wildlife reserve. They saw that the coast was clear, no predators in sight. So they ignored warning signs and jumped off the wall, climbed protective fencing and wandered into the wilderness. Almost instantly, a huge siberian tiger mauled the first guy to death. The other two quickly scrambled to safety.

Dun believe me? Check the news out yourself...

Did these men not trust that those who had erected the fencing and signs did so for a reason? Could they not see that these were put up NOT to trouble them but to protect them?? Sighs...

Sometimes aren't we as blind or smart alecky? We see God's kind warning in the Word about the dangers to be had in this world, we hear Him speak to our conscience... But instead of staying within His will, His hedge of protection, we step out of it to do things our way. We don't see the dangers until we're caught in its jaws!!

Stick by your Shepherd, Jesus, so that His rod and staff can protect you. His rod guides and hooks you in before the wolves get you. His staff whacks the enemies away. :) Let us never be too smart and cocky for our own good.

- Shalom, Geri
