Move on, move ahead and finish that race =)

I love this quote -

"We cannot come to Christ to be justified until we have first been to Moses to be condemned. BUT once we have gone to Moses and acknowledged our sin, guilt and condemnation, we must NOT stay there." - John Stott

I think the problem that most people have is that once they have been to Moses, they decide to park there, or they end up circling round and round, not moving along into Life and Life MORE abundantly. Mount Sinai is not a season parking lot. =p

As one person said, "Don't get in the way, get ON the way." Move up, move on! You're on Mount Zion now and it is time to get a move on to the Promised Land waiting for you around the bend =) Leave that burden at the foot of the Cross - it is not for you to bear, and put on those white robes washed clean by the blood of Christ; live not the way you deserve to, but live the way Christ has paid for you to do so.

We can allow our past to stumble us. We can look at our history and let it make us history, or we can press on ahead because what is ahead is a future that keeps getting brighter and brighter.

"So watch your step, friends. Make sure there's no evil unbelief lying around that will trip you up and throw you off course, diverting you from the living God." - Hebrews 3:12 (MSG)

Evil unbelief imho is sin consciousness, which is the opposite of Christ consciousness.

"But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to Him at all.) And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God." (Romans 8:9-10, NLT)

When we think we are not good enough, or when we think that we have not been fully forgiven and must stiill earn our salvation, it goes not glorify the finished work of Christ on our lives. According to Psalm 23, surely goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our life - but do we believe that or are we living a life of guilt and condemnation? Are we piling condemnation on ourselves or the people around us? That guilt and condemnation can drive us away from God, cause us to hide away because we feel ashamed instead of "washed as white as snow".

Today we live not as our own.

Watchman Nee shares - "What is the Christian life? The Christian life is just Christ. What does it mean for Christ to live within us? Christ living within us means that Christ is our life and that He is living instead of us. We do not live by the power of Christ. Rather, Christ lives within us and on our behalf. This is an inheritance we can enjoy." =D

In short - as a friend of mine, Stanley, once said on his blog- "We in Christ" gives us right standing before God, and "Christ in us" gives us the right walking before men.

Amen. We have died to this world, to our past, to who we used to be and we have risen as Saints, as New Creations in Christ JESUS! AMEN!! =D

I like what Michael Sullivan from this season of American Idol said tonight --> "You can't go wrong by getting better at who you are."

We can't go wrong as we grow in our walk with Christ. Because even moments when we stumble, He actually turns them into blessings that will bring us to higher ground. He will no longer live us behind. He will leave the 99 behind to find that 1 lost sheep. That is our Shepherd's love for us. He is like that widow who persists in looking for that lost coin and that celebrates when she finds it. He celebrates and sings love songs to us. Our Saviour Redeemer loves us and will always shine His light along our path for us. All that is needful for us is to follow that light and abide in Him.

To get better at who we are, we need to know who we are now that we live in Christ. Scripture has some clues:

* As He is in this world, so are you.

* We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus.

* We are above, not beneath.

* We are lenders, not borrowers.

* We are made ministers according to the gift of God's free grace (undeserved favour) which was bestowed on us by the exercise (the working in all its effectiveness) of His power.

* It is not we who live, but Christ in us who lives.

* We are blessed above all peoples.

* God will not forsake us, His saints, and we are preserved forever.

* God surrounds us both now and forever more.

* We are in perfect love where there is no fear.

The list goes on but the most important of ALL of our identity is this:

We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

You've left the past behind, now close that chapter. Let it be a lesson and move on, being perfected by the grace God has given us to help us do all which we could not do before.

You no longer have to fear the things you feared before. You no longer have to justify yourself because you've been justified.

Christ hung on that Cross so you will not let your past become your hang-up.

Take that gift of grace, receive it fully and stand on His Word, walk on His Word, feed on His Word, live because of the Covenant He has made to you, and for which He shed His blood for you. Live the way He means for you to live not because you need to work out your salvation. Live it as a celebration of His love, His forgiveness and ALL that He has done for you.

I love Romans 11:29 (MSG):

"God's gifts and God's call are under full warranty- never cancelled, never rescinded."

You are now under lifetime warranty so live the way it is said in Acts 20:24 -

"But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life fear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the LORD Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God."

Finish your race. You have nothing to be afraid of because He's got you covered under His Wings and He has you safe in the palm of His loving hands. =) Our lives are the most powerful testimony to what grace does to sin - where light enters, darkness has to flee. =D

Enjoy your weekend and be blessed in the LORD! =D

Love, Geri

  1. Beloved,
    Sorry for sounding offensive here.
Did you write these stuff by yourself?

OMG, this is good. So so good.

My flesh disagrees. But my Spirit man is feeding off on your truths here.

    Thank you.

  2. Hi Sister Peggy =)

I'd say that the Holy Spirit teaches me all things won't you? ^.- Definitely not written by my strength, but through His strength in my weaknesses... We accomplish all things in Christ and Christ alone, Amen?

BIG HUGS! Praise God that He blesses us so that we can be a blessing. May He use you mightily today for His glory. May His light shine through you and His love reach out to others through you.

Whereabouts are you from sister? =D

    Shalom,
    Geri
