Just Do It!

"Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it." (John 2:5)

When the wine ran out at a wedding Jesus was guest at, His instructions to the servers at the banquet must have seemed odd. Why fill the jars with water when it was wine that was needed? But they did it and Jesus's first miracle on this earth took place as water turned to wine.

When Jesus asked a general with a skin disease to wash himself in a muddy river, the dude was skeptical but his servant had a point- if Jesus had asked Him to do something harder he would, so why not this?

When a blind man came to Jesus for healing, He smeared mud on His eyes then asked him to wash it off in a pool. It seemed like a weird experience but the result was complete healing.

Is there a pressing situation you are facing right now? Does the Holy Spirit in you ask you to do something that doesn't make logical sense? Eg. You're almost flat broke and you feel led to sow the little you have.

Fear not! God's a God of ALL things possible, not a God of all things logical. Logic can cripple the faith. Excessive reasoning leads to confusion.

Five loaves and two fishes couldn't do much on its own- Maybe feed two kids moderately or one adult fully. But when surrendered to Jesus with child-like faith, God takes our small seed to create a bigger, super abundant harvest than we can imagine. That "happy meal" became several "extra value meals", a buffet that only stopped when the masses were fed. AND there were twelve baskets left over!

Trust God not just to perfectly provide but to cause an overflow of abundance in your life- not just financially, but in your spiritual and physical health, time for your loved ones, etc.

For such a harvest to take place, we must first see Him as our everything. We must see Him as bigger than our troubles/ problems. We must give Him priority of time, thought, love. When we prosper in our soul then can we prosper in our other areas. Without the well that doesn't run dry, we remain a parched and barren land- people of unfulfilled potential.

God has a plan for you and it is good. <See Jeremiah 29:11> But first you must walk out His Word and promises for you; standing still and hardening your heart takes one no where.

In the words of the Nike tagline, just do it. Do what the Holy Spirit whispers in your heart. How do we know whether it is of God? Well you feel peace and joy if it is. Decisions not of Him causes a nagging feeling, regrets, sadness, fear or negative emotions to rise.
