Guilty no more...

内疚 - guilt

I saw this word the other day and found out something interesting.

When broken into its elements, the Chinese term for guilt means this...

内 = internal (or enter from outside - perhaps this refers to thoughts that enter into us from the world outside. The world that the Word of God reminds us we are in but not a part of.)

疚 = long lasting (久) sickness (represented by the element that covers the word 久..)

So we see how Guilt is actually an internalised from outside, long lasting sickness.

So what does the Scripture remind us about what we NOW have because we are in Christ?

• My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not
  let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they
  are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. - Proverbs
  4:20–22
  

• Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall
  spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of
  the Lord shall be your rear guard. - Isaiah 58:8
  

• Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out
  of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from
  their destructions. - Psalm 107:19–20
  

• ... who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed. -
  1 Peter 2:24
  

• Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just
  as your soul prospers.- 3 John 1:2
  

• For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the
  law of sin and death.- Romans 8:2
  

• The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I
  have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. -
  John 10:10
  

• Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for
  You are my praise. - Jeremiah 17:14
  

There are many other amazing promises in the bible... I have not put all of them up here. =)

BUT remember, it is written in the Word of God -

• For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ. - 1 Corinthians 2:16
  

• ...as He is so are we in THIS World. - 1 John 4:17
  

SO... You have the mind of Christ!!
As He is NOW, so are you!!

You are no longer condemned.
You no longer need to be burdened by the yoke of guilt.
He has nailed it to the cross... He has forgiven you. =)

So let go and let Christ; Let go of that internalized long lasting sickness that is the devil's tool to rob you of your joy.

And why would the enemy want to do that?

Because "... the JOY of the LORD is your STRENGTH." - Nehemiah 8:10

He wants to sap you of your strength.

So, as Nehemiah said in the same quote, do not grieve.

Having said that, I love what our Senior Pastor told us during a sermon (he says it a lot actually)-

Look inside and be depressed,
Look outside and be stressed,
Look at Christ and be at REST!
