Pastor Mark's Sermon on Sunday - Part 3

Chinese also have one concern - when they hear the eldest son or firstborn son has accepted Christ, they will become very sad. This is because at Chinese funerals, they depend on the firstborn son to bring them out of Hades. He carries a langern to guide the parent as he walks behind the priest. They call this 回西風 (hui xi feng - return west wind??).

But whatever we depend on man sure fail one.


Let's look at Romans 8:29-30

For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.

You see our God is so good. He understand even the Chinese concerns!

Christ is the firstborn we can depend on to deliver us from death!!

So do you want your son or Jesus to save you? Because your children and your children's children can forget but Jesus say He will never forget or forsake you!
